Lake Adventures

Activities such as climbing, golf, fishing or boating make your vacation special! Climbing in dizzying heights in the climbing park or pitch and putt on the golf course - there is a lot to do. Even anglers and captains can enjoy their hobbies here. Jump right into the fun!

Climbing

in the forest climbing course

"What can the rest of the family do while I am spending the day on the golf course?" you might ask. We can help you out and your kids will surely think our suggestion is super cool! In 2008 the rope climbing course called Sea Tree was opened in a beautiful acorn forest right next to the youth hostel in Mardorf. On two dozen climbing stations under the thick tree canopy you can test your bravery, skills and strength - always safely roped up, of course. After this adventure your little ones will surely be happy and ready for a good night's sleep.

Golf

give your vacation momentum

At the end of a nice day in or on the water, think about how you would like to spend your next day. Your gaze wanders over the lake and meets the crest of the Rehburg Mountains in the west, that become exceptionally clear at dusk. Exactly there, embedded in gentle hills, lies the 18-hole golf course Rehburg-Loccum. Guests are always welcome. From the hilltops you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the far-reaching landscape. At Lake Steinhuder Meer Golf Park in Mardorf we also offer a 9-hole course, an 18-hole master’s course and a 3-hole putting green for all levels.

Miniature Golf

family fun on a small course

Miniature Golf is a great family activity! There is a Pirate's Course in Hagenburg, a miniature golf course in Steinhude and Mardorf. Test your skills, some surprises and challenges are waiting for you!

Fishing

"Good catch" at Lake Steinhuder Meer

Lake Steinhuder Meer is not the richest in fish, however, many freshwater predatory and non-predatory fish find ideal living conditions here. Therefore, it is very popular among anglers. There are perch, pike, carp, tench, pikeperch, roach, rudd, eel and bream. The best spots for catching fish are on the water or on the banks of the canal in Hageburg. Fishing licences can be bought online or in the Tourist Information centers around the lake.

Boating

be a captain on Lake Steinhuder Meer

Our paddle boats, rowing boats and electric boats are a lot smaller than the passenger ships, but they are just as popular. They can be rented in Steinhude and Mardorf. Sit behind the steering wheel and follow the light breeze, observe ducks, swans and other inhabitants of the Nature Park Lake Steinhuder Meer. Feel like a captain and enjoy the water from a new perspective.
