Only The Best Is Good Enough

For you, only the best is good enough. Therefore, quality is our first priority. We are the Steinhuder Meer Tourismus GmbH and would like to introduce ourselves to you. What is our main task and what services do we provide? You will find the answers here.

We worked hard to get the certification for Steinhude and Mardorf as "state-approved recreation area". This is the first region in Lower Saxony that received certification for accessibility within a nature reserve. The Tourist Information centers in Mardorf, Neustadt a. Rbge., Rehburg-Loccum and Steinhude received the special award called i-Marke. The Steinhuder Meer Tourismus GmbH is awarded by the "ServiceQualität Deutschland" with grade 1. More than 100 partners take part in the classifications by DTV for guestrooms, holiday flats and holiday homes.

Steinhuder Meer Tourismus GmbH

On December 16th, 2004 the Steinhuder Meer Tourismus GmbH (SMT) was founded by the city of Wunstorf and the tourist office Lake Steinhuder Meer. Since February 2007, the town Hagenburg also joined the company and on May 1st, 2008, Neustadt a. Rbge. and the tourist office Mardorf followed. The SMT was completed in April 2010 with the last bordering municipality Rehburg-Loccum.

 

Our Tasks

The SMT's main tasks are marketing of the holiday destination Lake Steinhuder Meer, guest service and hospitality management, supporting our service providers and event organisation. Steinhuder Meer Tourismus GmbH runs the tourist information offices in Steinhude, Mardorf and Neustadt, the motorhome site Steinhude, the miniature golf court and bike rental in Steinhude and a barbeque hut in Hageburg.

Our Service Quality

Our guest services are important to us. Therefore, for more than 10 years the SMT has taken part in a service quality initiative of the "Tourismuslandesverband", the "IHK" and "Hotel- und Gaststättenverbandes Niedersachsen". More than 100 measures have already been implemented since then.

Our Tourist Information Centers

Our Tourist Information Centers undergo regular quality checks by the "i-Marke" of the German Tourism Association, which include equipment and staff conduct in all Tourist Information centers. Our Events

We are organizing over 200 events every year. This includes welcome afternoons, guided tours, exhibits, markets, open air movies, events on the swimming stage and, of course, our highlight: The Festive Weekend, which lights up the entire lake.  

Our Motorhome Site in Steinhude

We are managing our motorhome site in Steinhude, which is equipped for 160 motorhomes. There is a service building with showers, toilets, washer & dryer. In addition, there is a supply and disposal unit, waste containers, power columns and bread service in the summer for all vehicles. Since 2009, our motorhome site is part of TopPlatz, a marketing association, which sets high quality standards. Over 100 requirements are regularly reviewed, so that you can feel at home. Not only high quality equipment is important, but also personal service. Therefore, our team is there for you every day.

We are making sure that more and more offers in our holiday destination are accessible for all guests, so that barrier-free traveling is not a problem. In order to do so, we work with the nationwide initiative "Travel for All".
