Experience a hiking trail along the former Lake Steinhuder-Meer railway line.
This trail follows the route of the former Lake Steinhuder Meer railway for a long distance. Places of interest on this trail include the Paula windmill, the JU 52 hangar on the edge of the Wunstorf air base, but also the idyllic settlement of Großenheidorn Strand.

Directions

Passing the old railroad line and the Paula windmill, the route heads towards Großenheidorn and the Ostenmeer area back to the town center of Steinhude.

Getting there
If you want to reach the southern shore of the Steinhuder Meer, you can take the Wunstorf/Luthe or Wunstorf/Kolenfeld exits from the A2. The B441 and B442 will take you to your destination.
Parking
In Steinhude we recommend you to use the large parking lot "Am Bruchdamm".
Here you can park your car for 5,00 € the whole day.
