Passenger Ship FGS Willkommen

Built in 1985 at the KuFra shipyard in Lübeck, the passenger vessel “Willkommen” is a proud part of the Steinhuder Personenschifffahrt fleet. Originally named “Freischütz” and operating on the Eutiner See, the ship found its new home in 1989 on the picturesque Steinhuder Meer, where it began service in 1990 under its current name. Since then, it has become an enduring symbol of leisurely exploration on Lower Saxony’s largest inland lake. At 21.85 metres in length and four metres in width, the aluminium vessel offers space for up to 45 passengers in its light-filled salon and an additional 20 guests on the open deck. With its twin-screw propulsion system providing 55 kW and a cruising speed of approximately eight knots, the “Willkommen” combines modern functionality with timeless maritime charm. More than a means of transport, the ship offers an experience – calm waters, panoramic views, and a sense of connection to nature. It is also a special setting for wedding ceremonies, where travellers exchange vows surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Steinhuder Meer.
