The first Promenade Celebration taked place on the second weekend in May on the "Ratskeller" grounds and the promenade. There is an attractive program on stage and many activities on Steinhude's promenade. Local caterers provides their specialties for you.

Radio and TV station NDR is normally the host of the NDR "Landpartie"-Festival, which introduces different regions in northern Germany. In the past 20 years, more than 3000 farms, businesses, artists and northern "originals" were visited by the TV host Heike Götz on her bicycle.

The craft market will take place in 2023 on October 3rd and Ascension Day in Mardorf. More than 100 craftsmen offer hand-made unique pieces. Between 11.00 am and 05.00 pm you can take a stroll or buy something special there. The entrance is free.

Regional products, new creations and a lot of fun for the entire family. When already early in the morning the Aloys-Bunge-Platz is turning into a bustling square, the farmers market is taking place: in July and August every Wednesday between 09.00 am and 1.00 pm.  

Unfortunately, the Festive Weekend had to be cancelled again in 2023. Usually, it transforms the lake for three days into a maritime fairground.

The flea markets around the lake are becoming increasingly popular. With a lot of luck you can find true bargains between books, CDs, graphic novels, computer parts, antique tableware and second hand clothing. Every now and then treasures from great-grandmother's times are offered, such as embroidered tablecloths, jewelry, glass, porcelain and old furniture from days long gone.
