The Wild Animal and Species Protection Centre (Wildtier- und Artenschutzstation e.V.) is dedicated to rescuing, nursing and releasing native wild animals back into their natural habitats. Every orphaned or injured creature that arrives at the station receives individual, species-appropriate care – from medical treatment to careful rehabilitation. The ultimate goal is always the animal’s return to freedom, symbolising the centre’s commitment to wildlife and biodiversity. Visitors can experience first-hand how professional wildlife conservation works in practice. Educational programmes and guided tours offer insights into the daily efforts of veterinarians and animal caretakers, making the station a fascinating destination for families, school groups and anyone interested in nature and animal welfare. Surrounded by the beautiful Schaumburg countryside, the facility embodies sustainability and compassion in action. It not only helps preserve wild species but also inspires awareness of the delicate relationship between humans and nature – a place where care, knowledge and respect for wildlife come together in harmony.
