Idyllically situated between two mountain ridges and surrounded by a beautiful forest backdrop, this is the best-preserved royal spa from the Romantic period in Germany. Its origins date back to 1690, when the healing effects of the local springs were first mentioned in a document. During this time, the Gesundbrunnen was developed into a magnificent spa complex: Bathhouses, spa hotels, a promenade hall, the spa park, a chapel and a number of walking paths along secluded viewing points were built in the surrounding area.
The park and building ensemble itself, built between 1750 and 1850, is well worth seeing. Particularly impressive are

There is also a small "spa laboratory", which explores the themes of water and wellness and invites visitors to experiment.
